Hands on Support for ICT in Bedfordshire

HoS is a joint DfES, Primary and Secondary and 14-19 Project which aims to provide teachers with an opportunity to share good practice in using ICT to enhance teaching and learning across the curriculum

The project provides funding for schools to develop opportunities to share good practice through a structured, locally driven programme

It provides funding for all schools, including specials, and in the Secondary sector, aims to support teacher in all subjects

It aims to:

  •       Provide individualised, classroom-based support for teachers using equipment with which they are familiar.

  •       Focus on pedagogy to support the more effective use of ICT

  •       Build on the number of schools reported by Ofsted as making effective use of ICT in teaching and learning across the curriculum

All Bedfordshire schools will have received copies of the County's HoS booklet (.pdf) which gives details of the Bedfordshire Project.

A Hands on Support Matrix has been developed to help schools to think about the resources they have and how to make best use of them. It will help them to:

  • identify who will make best use of HoS
  • Identify staff who may become HoS providers
  • Identify staff who may benefit for ICT skills training
