ICT in Schools Funding (Formerly NGfL) | |
|
ICT in Schools funding provides resources to enable the purchase of computer and communication systems. It also has an element specifically identified to finance technical training for teachers to enable them to develop the new ICT competencies required to support this new technology in the classroom and for supporting school administration. This has now been accomplished and all schools have been able to benefit from the new technologies to help transform teaching and learning. Bedfordshire has now completed the development of high-speed links for its schools as part of the East of England Broadband Network (E2BN). Currently schools are having resilience links put in to enable a continuous quality of service should there be problems with the main E2Bn link. All Upper and Middle schools have at least an 8Mb link with Lower schools having at least a 2Mb link. HoS - Hands on Support is a joint DfES, Primary and Secondary and 14-19 Project which aims to provide teachers with an opportunity to share good practice in using ICT to enhance teaching and learning across the curriculum, click here for more information.
