Timetable of returns to the
Information Management and Research Group The
Information Management and Research Group are responsible for collecting
data from schools through a number of returns, many of which are statutory
requirements.
In order to assist schools in planning their administrative workloads we
have set out below details of returns that you will need to complete,
timescales and key contacts. The
LEA is actively involved in developing the core LEA database in response to
Government requirements to be able to transfer data electronically between
schools and LEAs and LEAs to schools and thus meet our commitments to the
LEA’s information management strategy. As the system is being implemented
schools will need to have systems in place to aid with termly exports (in
the form of pupil level data through an export from the school
administration system – ‘current roll and leavers’ roll’). Subsequently,
as a benefit this export will replace several other local data collection
exercises and will, therefore, reduce the overall workload for schools.
Further details and revisions to data collection timetables will be notified
as soon as available. Eventually, we hope to link the data requirements to
specific electronic forms, reports and instructions to help schools provide
data more easily and speedily than before. For
information on using AVCO encryption software please
software called Xporter will shortly be available to schools. This
will be used to automatically produce and retrieve some of the following
returns from your IM System. Team
