Regional Activities and Opportunities

University of Cambridge
The Department of Engineering provides a range of activities for schools, students and families including hosting visits from primary schools and workshops for GCSE and A Level students. Contact www.eng.cam.ac.uk/outreach for further details.

The Department of Archaeology offers the Higher Education Field Academy to give GCSE students the chance to develop skills, confidence and enthusiasm to progress to the bets possible university for them. This is part of the Widening Participation Programme and is run by Dr Carenza Lewis who is well known from the Channel 4’s Time Team. The Department can offer activities from primary school age upwards, and from half a day to 5 day courses. It also runs a series of popular discovery days. Villiers Park Educational Trust
Villiers Park is a national charity providing high quality educational activities for students, teachers and school leaders at its residential conference centre near Cambridge and at schools, colleges and universities nationally. It has a long standing reputation for outstanding provision and is recognised nationally as an important voice in promoting the needs of the Gifted and Talented. Villiers Park Trust offers an advisory service to support schools and colleges to develop their Gifted and Talented strategy. It specializes in activities and provision for post- 16 students.
