If you are selling refreshments you need to have staff to do this, normally 1 staff member per 100 people. This is also the same for selling merchandise. If you are planning on selling your merchandise and refreshments before, during and after the music event you need to ensure you have the correct number of staff to deal with the demands at all times. You also need to think about security staff. Again the number you need depends on the number of people attending the event but as a general rule of thumb you should aim for at least 1 security staff per 50 people. This may sound a lot but you need to ensure that there are enough security personnel to deal with every possible eventuality. In the case of security it is always safer to have too many rather than too few. You can hire staff for one off events from a number of places. The easiest and most reliable way is to use an employment agency. Rates of pay obviously differ depending on the actual job but you should expect to pay an average of £7.00 per hour for staff selling refreshments or merchandise and an average of £15.00 per hour for security staff. |
