And even when you have chosen a band there is the added hassle working out if you can afford them, seeing if they are available on the date you want them and then booking them, providing they want to be booked for your event. Most bands have demands which should be met like bottles of water or flowers in dressing rooms. Some major superstars have quite ridiculous demands, for example, staff must not make eye contact with the star or no one else to be allowed in their chosen hotel! When booking a band you have to take into account the cost of their support staff and accommodation costs. These costs can eat into your budget and before you know it you have spent so much on the band that you haven't got enough budget left for a decent enough venue. It is not all bad news, however, as some bands have made themselves available for charity music events at either a very small fee or no cost at all. |
