ATTENDANCE

Children should arrive at school in plenty of time for registration at 8.55. There will be a teacher on duty in the playground from 8.45 each morning. The school doors will remain open until 9.00am. Children arriving late should report to the office. Children who miss a morning or afternoon register will receive a late mark.

We do encourage children to be punctual so as to ensure a happy start to the day. A child who is late will miss this  important start and this can often effect behaviour all day. Children who are always on time and avoid absences are rewarded at the end of each term with a school certificate. Absence and lateness are reviewed on a regular basis by the Education Welfare Officer who may visit families where attendance is poor.

If your child is ill or absent for other reasons please advise the school by ringing the school office before 9.30am on the first day of illness. Children may be absent for up to two weeks per school year, however we do encourage our families to take holidays during school vacations.

Holiday forms are available from the school office and must be completed in advance. We cannot guarantee that permission will be granted.

Unauthorised absences will appear on a child's report. We would particularly ask the parents of children in Years 2, 3,and 4 to avoid, if at all possible, their child being absent during the month of May, when children take their national tests.
