We monitor all children's progress within the school. This way we can identify those children who require a little extra support. Neptune is a new addition to the school, allowing for extra support to be given in a quiet room away from any distractions.
Support given covers a wide variety of abilities and personal targets such as, literacy and numeracy targets, speech and language exercises and occupational therapy exercises.
Support is mainly given one to one with some small group work and follows a lesson programme designed for the specific needs of each child. The targets for each child are reviewed on a regular basis.
The room has been designed to be interactive - the high frequency words on leaves and fruit on the painted tree being removable allowing for spelling and reading games to support literacy targets.

With help from the pupils, the Neptune room looks beautifully decorated.
The cauldron has been designed to help with numeracy skills. These items are also removable allowing for a wide range of games to be played to build confidence with numeracy concepts
