They have also considered changes to materials such as paint and clay. Their clay faces were used to show how some materials cannot be changed back to their original state.

The children worked in groups to collect information about the changes that happen to trees as they grow and as they change through the seasons. The children organised and presented their own work to make huge posters sharing what they had found out.

Their work also included a history focus as the children looked at toys from the past and compared them to their own modern ones. Geography was incorporated by looking at maps of towns and thinking about how they grew and developed over decades and centuries.
The class also looked at the way materials are used in different ways. They each chose a season and worked on two pictues, one with coloured pencil and the other with watercolour. The children evaluated the two different processes.
