Children’s
Workforce Development Directory
2009-10 Introduction
The
newly formed Children’s Workforce Development Team is placed
in the
Learning and Schools Support Sub-directorate, but has the remit to
co-ordinate
the needs of the entire Children, Families and Learning Directorate for
We
are pleased to provide in this directory information about a range of
CPD opportunities for the Children’s Workforce of Central
Bedfordshire Council.
Some areas of support are managed centrally by the Children’s
Workforce
Development Team, but many are held with other providers, including
Bedford
Borough Council and others outside the geographical area. In these
cases the
Directory provides a sign-post to these providers. Much
of the support provided to school-based staff is provided by local
Training Schools, with whom we have entered into a partnership to
ensure
coverage of support is consistent across the Local Authority and, where
appropriate,
locally delivered. While specific funded support is available only to Another
document that appears in this introduction is a compilation of
all the priorities identified by key national organisations related to
children’s workforce. You may find it useful to compare these
priorities with
those of your own particular organisation when developing any action
plans. We
look forward to working with you and we hope you will enjoy the
opportunity to train and work with an increasingly wide range of
colleagues
from the Children’s Workforce, thus gaining a greater
understanding of the work
others do for children as well as enriching your own expertise. We
